The superb quality of the surviving fragments from the tashigomang built in Densatil demonstrates the highly accomplished craftsmanship of the Tibetan and Newari sculptors involved. Even though these commemorative structures have long since been destroyed, the possibility may exist to ’reconstruct’ at least a part of them, virtually. In our efforts to document the art of Densatil, we seek the assistance of individuals and institutions and would be extremely grateful to hear from anybody who knows about photographic material of Densatil fragments which may be in private collections, museums, art galleries and auction houses.
